(CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.) – It was Senior Day for the Wilson women's soccer team and the Phoenix celebrated in a big way with a victory over Cedar Crest on Saturday afternoon. The Blue and White overcame an early goal in the second half with three-straight goals to defeat the Falcons in a rematch of last year's United East Championship First Round contest.
The Basics
Score: Wilson 3, Cedar Crest 1
Venue: Kris's Meadow
Records: Wilson 3-6-2, 1-2-0 UE; Cedar Crest 2-8-0, 1-2-0 UE
How It Happened
	- After both teams exchanged shots in the opening four minutes, Wilson started to control the pace of place with eight unanswered shots. Twice the Phoenix hit the woodwork and two more were saved, but the score remained gridlocked at 0-0 through halftime.
- After the break, Halley Shaffer (Sr., Sunbury, Pa. / Line Mountain) had a couple of chances followed by shots from Annie Smith (Sr., Hagerstown, Md. / North Hagerstown) and Breanna Oliviero (FY, Wernersville, Pa. / Conrad Weiser) in the early moments, but nothing found the back of the net. Instead, Cedar Crest was able to counter and Lauren Davis became the first to light up the scoreboard with her goal in the 56th minute.
- The lead didn't last too long as Smith found the equalizer in the 69th. It was the break the Phoenix needed and soon the flood gates opened. After shots by Shaffer and Oliviero, Smith connected with Shaffer up the middle of the box to make it 2-1 in the 77th minute. With time winding down, Shaffer scored her second of the day on an assist from fellow senior Becca Cordell (Sr., Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro) to set up the final score.
Inside The Numbers
	- Shaffer scored her seventh and eighth goals of the season. It was her third multiple goal game of the year. The program's all-time points and goals leader now has 60 goals in her career.
- Smith's goal was her first of the season.
- Wilson outshot Cedar Crest 24-4 overall and 8-3 in shots on goal.
- Bella Scarlato (FY, Severn, Md. / Glen Burnie) started the game in goal for the Phoenix. She made one save while Madison Ebersole (So., Big Pool, Md. / Clear Springs) played the second half and added an additional save.
