How It Happened
  • A close first half closed with Wilson gaining momentum heading into the locker room on the heels of a 3-pointer by Antonio Perez Jr. (So., Frederick, Md. / Saint Joseph's Catholic) for a a 37-33 lead at the break. Brandywine was able to respond early in the second as an Amari Little triple gave back the lead to the visitors at 44-43. It didn't last long as the Phoenix answered with a trey by Trea Keys (Sr., Columbia, Md. / Wilde Lake) their next trip down the floor which sparked a 15-3 run. It gave Wilson the lead for good, but Brandywine didn't go away quietly.
  • The Nittany Lions were able to chip away at the lead as Little brought them back within a possession after a pair of three-point plays to make the score 64-61. Free throws for both teams followed, but Wilson was able to pull away again thanks to a Winston Raford (So., Woodbridge, Va. / Forest Park) 3-pointer that made the score 70-62 with 38 seconds left. While Brandywine was able to respond with a layup to get within a couple of possessions, Wilson didn't allow them to get any closer and sealed the win.
