How It Happened
- Wilson opened up the day with a 3-1 lead on the strength of a pair of Niki Schussler (Sr., Chambersburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley Christian) kills before the Mounties took control with a 9-1 run. Wilson looked to get back into contention as a 4-0 spurt that featured an Addie Hebert (So., Gettysburg, Pa. / Gettysburg) kills and a Michaela Windisch (So., Westminster, Md. / Catoctin) ace put the score at 14-10, but another 9-1 burst by MAC put the set out of reach for the Phoenix.
- Momentum carried into the second as the visitors opened up a 9-3 lead. Wilson then went on a 4-1 run with kills from Allyson Garcelon (Jr., Shrewsbury, Pa. / Susquehannock) and Alexis Buckley (Sr., Millsboro, Del. / Indian River) to make the score 10-7. The Mounties' attack got stronger in the set and they eventually went up by double digits before taking the 2-0 lead.
- The third set was by far Wilson's best of the night as the Phoenix looked to stay alive. It featured three lead changes and 10 ties with the teams being even at 11-11. Once again the Mounties started to pull away as they went up 20-14, Kills by Garcelon and Schussler helped Wilson get back within four at 23-19, but MAC was able to score two of the next three for the win.
