(LANGHORNE, Pa.) – Wilson's four-game winning streak came to an end as it dropped a pair of games against Cairn Saturday afternoon. While the Phoenix had hot bats on Friday, they were cooled down by a strong defensive effort by the Highlanders to give them the series.

How It Happened (Game 1)
- Harry Middlebrooks (FY, Bel Air, Md. / Archbishop Curley) hoped to spark some offense as he doubled to right center in the top of the first. After stealing third, an infield error allowed him to score. Unfortunately, the Phoenix were largely held in check the rest of the way as they were held scoreless until the top of the sixth win Kodi Deskins (FY, Tampa, Fla. / Clearwater Central Catholic) scored on a Trent Strohecker (FY, Halifax, Pa. / Halifax) single to left.
- By that time Cairn already had control of the contest. The Highlanders countered Middlebrooks' run with two in the bottom of the first to take the lead. The hosts then plated three in both the fourth and fifth innings.
How It Happened (Game 2)
- Cairn took an early lead with solo runs in the first and second innings before Wilson bounced back with a pair in the third. Tyler Smith (FY, Crofton, Md. / Archbishop Spalding) opened the at-bat with a double down the third base line and eventually scored on a Middlebrooks fielder's choice. Haden Hoff (Sr., Westminster, Md. / Westminster), who reached on a fielder's choice as well, tied the game on a double to left center by Jordan McKenzie (Sr., White Plains, Md. / North Point). Deskins looked to give the Blue and White the lead, but was thrown out at home on the relay.
- The Highlanders broke the game open in the fourth with back-to-back two RBI doubles for a 6-2 lead and added another run before the end of the frame. Cairn went on to score runs in the next three innings to end the game.
Inside The Numbers
- Middlebrooks was able to keep his hit streak intact and is now at 15 games.
