(CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.) – It may have been rather cold for a typical baseball doubleheader, but no one told Wilson as the Phoenix kept the bats hot in a sweep of Stevenson on Sunday. The Blue and White blasted out 17 hits in a six-inning shutout that ended a frame early because of snow flurries before rallying from a 5-0 deficit to win the nightcap.

How It Happened (Game 1)
- The Phoenix didn't waste any time getting the bats warmed up as they opened up their at bat with three hits and a walk which resulted in a 2-0 lead after Haden Hoff (Sr., Westminster, Md. / Westminster) and Ryan Torres (Jr., Baltimore, Md. / Archbishop Curley) circled around the base paths. After error allowed another run, Jordan Daphney (Jr., Countryside, Fla. / Countryside) made it 4-0 as his single down the right field line brought in Tyler Smith (FY, Crofton, Md. / Archbishop Spalding).
- After a 1-2-3 top of the second, the Phoenix opened the flood gates as two walks and a hit batter loaded the bases before the first out. Jordan McKenzie (Sr., White Plains, Md. / North Point) provided the first big blow with a two-RBI double that scored Hoff and Torres to put Wilson up 7-0. After Smith reached on an error, Daphney also hit a double that made the score 9-0. Gage Goss (So., Holiday, Fla. / Anclote), Brady Andre (Sr., Brookeville, Md. / Sherwood), and Hoff further added RBIs for a 12-0 lead later in the frame.
- Daphney wasn't finished as he singled up the middle to plate McKenzie in the bottom of the third. He eventually scored on an infield single by Hoff to put the score at 14-0. The final run in the bottom of the sixth when Trent Strohecker (FY, Halifax, Pa. / Halifax) singled through the right side to score Jack Pachella (So., Wayne, Pa. / Radnor).
- Chase Supensky (So., Baltimore, Md. / Towson) recorded the win after starting the game and tossing the first four frames. He was nearly perfect with three strikeouts and allowed just two hits during his time on the hill. Tyler Ware (FY, Palm Harbor, Fla. / East Lake) and Briar Castellow (Sr., Thurmont, Md. / Catoctin) also pitched an inning each adding another three strikeouts for the battery.
How It Happened
- Wilson was forced to come from behind after the Mustangs jutted out to a 5-0 lead in the second inning. The Phoenix eventually got on the board then as McKenzie singled to center to score Peyton Taylor (Sr., Worton, Md. / Kent County) and Strohecker. Taylor initially got on with a base hit to right and stole second while Strohecker was hit by a pitch. A bases-loaded walk issued to Taylor mad the score 5-3 in the third.
- The Blue and White eventually took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Wilson loaded the bases in an unconventional way that started with a McKenzie triple followed by Hoff getting hit by a pitch and stealing second before a walk to Smith. That set up Daphney who smacked a pitch to the outfield fenced for a double to bring everyone in. Harry Middlebrooks (FY, Bel Air, Md. / Archbishop Curley) later singled up the middle to bring in Daphney.
- The Mustangs cut the deficit to one in the top of the fifth, but Wilson got it back in the bottom of the frame. Taylor led off the inning with a walk and found himself on third after a passed ball and a stolen base. McKenzie brought him in safely on sacrifice to left.
- Adrian Lugo (Jr., San Juan, Puerto Rico / Manuel Cruz Maceira) recorded the win in a stellar relief effort where he struck out six and allowed one run on four hits in 4.0 innings of work. Pachella tossed the seventh and struck out one to record the first save of the year.
Inside The Numbers
- McKenzie had a monster day as he went a combined 5-of-8 with six RBI and three runs scored. Three of his hits were for extra bases with a triple in each game.
- Daphney was right there with him with a 4-of-8 clip, six RBI, and three runs scored. He had a double in each game with the second clearing the bases to put Wilson in the lead.
- Hoff finished the opener a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored.
- Andre has now hit safely in all six games this season. He has now extended his hit-streak to eight games. Additionally, he and Hoff have reached safely each game this season.
- The opening game was the third time this season Wilson has recorded double-digits in hits and matched the season high of 17 recorded against Alfred State last weekend.
