How It Happened
  • Although the Phoenix were held scoreless in the opening frame, it wasn't from their own faults as the Blue and White put the pressure on the Ravens early. Wilson fired off six shots in the opening 20 minutes. Three needed saves which were provided by Ravens' keeper Amanda Ritter. The Phoenix put three more on target later in the half.
  • On the opposite end, Rosemont was limited to two shots in the first, both of which were in the 40th minute. Cassidy Smith had a take that went right before Abigail Harding put one on the frame that was saved by Rebecca Marakovitz (Sr., New Market, Md. / Linganore) to keep the game scoreless at the break.
  • Wilson finally broke through 11 minutes into the second half as Skylar Molnar (Sr., Shohola, Pa. / Delaware Valley) found an opening up the middle to light up the scoreboard. The momentum continued as Kylyn McIntire (FY, Red Lion, Pa. / Red Lion) connected with Autumn DiCandilo (FY, Harleysville, Pa. / Souderton) for another goal just eight minutes later.
  • The score remained there until the final moments when Wilson's top two point generators connected for an insurance goal. Halley Shaffer (Jr., Sunbury, Pa. / Line Mountain) did the honors as she went top shelf over the keeper's head with an assist from Annie Smith (So., Middletown, Md. / Middletown) on the left side.
Inside The Numbers
  • Shaffer's goal gives her 17 for the season, fourth-most in the United East. She's also fifth in total points with 37 on the year. With her assist, Smith joined her in the 30-point club andis seventh in the conference.
