(CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.) – Wilson locked up the No. 2 seed in the United East Championship tournament after blanking Lancaster Bible in the regular season finale on a sunny Tuesday afternoon. Defenders
Hannah Aker (Sr., Yardley, Pa. / Pennsbury) and
Hailey Steele (Sr., Biglerville, Pa. / Biglerville) had incredible games on the offensive end as both scored a goal and an assist on penalty corners to pace the attacking end.

How It Happened
- The Phoenix put the pressure on from the start with a pair of penalty corners in the first seven minutes. The second one paid off as Steele inserted it from the right side and Aker blasted a shot from the top of the circle for the score.
- Midway through the second quarter the Blue and White added another one. This time it was Kate Seymour (So., Churchton, Md. / Southern) who made the finish on an assist from Brea Kelso (Sr., Shippensburg, Pa. / Shippensburg). Kelso sent in the ball from the left wing with Seymour able to knock it in with traffic in front of the LBC keeper.
- The lead stayed at two through halftime, but it didn't take long for the Phoenix to heat up again. Just a couple minutes into the third, Another corner provided Wilson with its third goal. After sending it in, Steele positioned herself by the right post. Jill Ahlgren (Sr., Mercersburg, Pa. / Mercersburg) sent the ball towards the cage and Steele was able to take control and stuff it home.
- The Blue and White set the final score with a goal in the fourth. This time Aker connected with Paige Ney (Jr., Biglerville, Pa. / Biglerville) midway through the frame.
Inside The Numbers
- Ney's goal was her conference-best 13th of the season. She currently ranks in the top 20 nationally in goals per game.
- Steele's goal gives her three on the season and her assist was her first of the season. Aker's goal was her second. Her assist was also her first.
- Seymour's score gives her two in as many games. She is second on the team with 22 points on eight goals and six helpers.
- The shot chart heavily favored the Phoenix by a 23-1 count. Fifteen were on goal for Wilson while the Chargers' lone take came in the second quarter on a penalty corner. Erin Sullivan (FY, Byram, N.J. / Lenape Valley) provided the save to preserve the shutout, Wilson's sixth of the season.
- The Phoenix have now won at least 11 games in three of the last four seasons.

The postseason awaits the Blue and White who will host a semifinal game on Saturday, November 2. They will take on either Keystone or Penn State Harrisburg who square off against each other on Saturday at 3 p.m. The winner of the Nittany Lions and Giants clash will come to Chambersburg as the third seed while the other will visit top-seed St. Mary's.
