(CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.) – Wilson's strong defensive performance drew a third-straight win against a Skye Division foe as the Phoenix defeated Clarks Summit on Saturday. Wilson forced 20 turnovers including 15 steals as
Adrianna Stricek (So., Harrisburg, Pa./Trinity),
Lae Black (So., Laurel, Md./Meade), and
Jewels Torres ( So., York, Pa./ West York) all reached double figures in scoring. The sturdy team outing deterred an early deficit before the defense proved to be too much for Clarks Summit to handle.

How it Happened
- The Defenders scored first as they knocked down a pair of free throws before Black would answer with a free throw of her own. Clarks Summit would quickly respond by makingbuckets on back-to-back possessions before knocking down a pair of free throws to put CSU up by five in the first quarter. Stricek cut the lead down to three with a made layup in the paint. After another made foul shot, the Defenders sent the quarter into conclusion as they knocked down a bucket as the last score of the frame making the score 10-6.
- The second quarter would be a change of pace for the Phoenix as they went on a 9-2 run courtesy of a pair of Stricek baseline jumpers, a Black layup, and a three-point bucket by Mackenzie Caldwell-Degnon (Fy., Rockville, Md./ Richard Montgomery). The run would not quiet CSU as it found a rhythm and continued to go back and forth with the Phoenix before the conclusion of the second quarter. Wilson entered the halftime break after outscoring the opponent by five points and shooting 50% from the floor in the second to take a one-point lead to the locker room.
- CSU would be out matched in the third quarter as Wilson's offense received a jump start after a Laela Robinson (So., Lancaster, Pa./ Conestoga Valley) 3-pointer. Following seven made free throws from Wilson, Caldwell-Degon knocked down a pair of threes during a 12-4 run. The Phoenix made 10 of their season-high 23 made free throws this quarter, putting them up eight points.
- Stricek began the fourth with another baseline jumper to put Wilson up 10. With CSU slowly cutting the deficit, Torres converted an and-one followed by a made free throw by Caldwell-Degnon which pushed the lead to a game-high 13 points in Wilson's favor. Caldwell-Degnon would knock down two more from the line to end Wilson's night scoring.
