(CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.) – The Wilson men's soccer played its second game in as many days as it hosted Albright to bookend opening weekend. The Lions took the contest after scoring a pair of first half goals against the Phoenix and added an insurance tally early in the second.
The Basics
Score: Wilson 0, Albright 3
Venue: Kris's Meadow
Records: Wilson 0-2, Albright 2-0
How It Happened
- The Albright attack was able to pressure the Phoenix back line early on with a couple of early shots in the first five minutes. Splitting the defense once again, Andrew Myers was able to find Martin Ramsay for the first score in the sixth minute. Tyler Cottone (Fy., Milford, Pa. / Delaware Valley) provided a solid opportunity for the Blue and White with a shot five minutes later, but it was saved by Lions' keeper Chris Denholm in the lower left 90.
- Midway through the period the Lions threatened again with a flurry of shots. Back-to-back takes were saved by Logan Neves (Fy., Fredericksburg, Va. / Colonial Forge), but Albright's Austin Gross was able to clean up the rebound for a 2-0 lead in the 28th minute. The third goal came six minutes into the second period as Albright's Myles Mitchell crossed from left to right and had a deflection into the net.
- Wilson had its two best opportunities of the weekend come 14 minutes later as Martin Souza (So., Manassas Park, Va. / Manassas Park) had a straight-away line down the middle that was saved by the Lions' Cooper Walters. One minute later Dylan Youmans (Sr., Westminster, Md. / South Carroll) had a strong attack that lasered just above and over the cross bar. The Phoenix had one final chance later in the half with Nathan Karaffa (Fy., Quinton, Va. / New Kent) having a shot saved bottom center.

- Neves finished the game with five saves, some at nearly point blank range, before Vincent Natale (So., Mt. Airy, Md. / Linganore) played the second half and made three more stops.
