How It Happened
  • The Phoenix defense limited Keystone to four points in the first quarter holding the team to just 2-14. Stricek recorded three of the seven steals recorded by the team. Scoring came early as Allie Cullison (Jr., Westminster, Md. / Winters Mill) opened the night with a fast break three pointer to light up the scoreboard and would start a 14-4 run that made a difference early. Cullison would go on to total nine points in the first quarter and total 17 points being the teams second highest scorer behind Stricek's 18 points.
  • As the second quarter began, the Phoenix would continue their hot hand as Cullison would score the teams next five points.  Wilson would then begin dominating the glass as Lae Black (So., Laurel, Md. / Meade) would begin her night in the point column with the teams next two baskets coming from the paint. Wilson entered the locker room at half with a 21-point lead over the Giants.
  • Stricek began the second half by landing the next three buckets for Wilson to continue the dominance down below. After a fast break layup by Cullison, which was assisted by Yaya Cannon (Gr., Lancaster, Pa. / Lancaster Catholic), Stricek increased the lead to 22 points off a layup.
  • As the fourth quarter began the Phoenix grew the lead to a high of 25 points following a layup scored by Mackenzie Caldwell-Degnon (Fy., Rockville, Md. / Richard Montgomery). The Phoenix would hold off a late 8-0 run by the Giants to secure the win on their home court.
