How It Happened
- The Black and Blue got stronger as the night went on. After falling in the first set, Wilson came out and split the first six points to generate some momentum. LBC bounced back with a 5-0 rally to take a 10-4 lead, but the Phoenix answered with the next three points anchored by an ace from Deah Menedis (So., Reisterstown, Md. / Franklin).
- Another long rally followed before Wilson could take a 5-1 run with help on two more aces from Alexis Buckley (So., Millsboro, Del. / Indian River) and Niki Schussler (So., Chambersburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley Christian) before the Chargers closed the second set.
- The third set saw the Chargers jump out to an early lead before three consecutive points tailed by a Menedis kill made the score 9-6. It was the closest the Phoenix could get as LBC took the match.
