(BRYN ATHYN, Pa.) – A late goal was the difference in Wednesday's CSAC Tournament women's soccer semifinal contest between third-seeded Wilson and second-seeded Bryn Athyn. Unfortunately for the Phoenix the goal was scored by the Lions and held up for the final 10 minutes.

How It Happened
- Bryn Athyn had an opportunity to score early in the contest as the Lions were awarded a penalty kick in the fourth minute. Fortunately for the Phoenix, Rebecca Marakovitz (So., New Market, Md. / Linganore) guessed correctly and made the save to keep the game scoreless.
- Both teams had ample opportunities from there on out on the offensive end, but both teams' defenses remained strong. Only two additional shots on goal were taken in the first half, but Marakovitz came up big in both situations with a pair of saves in the 11th and 27th minutes.
- Jade Wolfe (So., Mercersburg, Pa. / James Buchanan), Halley Shaffer (Fy., Sunbury, Pa. / Line Mountain), and Bailey Miller (Sr., Sterling, Va. / Washington) were all able to get shots off in the first half, but none were on target. In total the Phoenix had five shots with Miller providing three takes.
- In the second half, Morgan Wineburg (Sr., Phoenixville, Pa. / Phoenixville) gave Wilson its first shot on goal, but it was saved by the Lions' Chloe Munyon in the 50th minute. Wineburg and Julia Elliott (So., Annapolis, Md. / Broadneck) provided shots on goal shortly after in the 53rd and 56th minutes, respectively, but both were also saved. From there the Lions had a couple of opportunities in the 58th and 60th minutes, but Marakovitz provided the saves once again to keep the game tied.
- Marakovitz made one more save in the 80th minute, but possession remained in the Lions control and Ashley Rivera eventually scored 34 seconds later.
