Women's Soccer Pummels Patriots

PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. - The Wilson College women's soccer team took on the Patriots of the University of Valley Forge earlier this afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play. The Phoenix (4-5, 2-1 CSAC) dominated the match, defeating the Patriots (0-6, 0-2 CSAC) by a final score of 13-0.

How It Happened: Wilson wasted no time getting started in this one as junior Mia Harris (Waynesboro, PA., Frostburg State) started off the scoring less than two minutes in off an assist from junior Simone Karustis (Pottstown, PA., Owen J. Roberts). Shortly after, the Phoenix added another goal. This time it was junior Morgan Wineburg (Phoenixville, PA., Phoenixville) who scored off an assist from senior Mikaela Small (New Oxford, PA., New Oxford), pushing the score to 2-0 early on. About five minutes later, Wilson added their third goal off a shot from freshman Chloe Antalek (Wappingers Falls, NY, Beacon). After about 10 minutes, the Phoenix started another offensive flurry, scoring five goals in a less than ten-minute span that extended their lead to 8-0. With less than two minutes left in the half, freshman Rachel Coulter (Woodbridge, VA, Gar-field) added another goal, giving Wilson a 9-0 lead at the half. The Phoenix would go on to score four more goals in the second half, giving them the 13-0 victory.

Inside the Box Score: Altogether, Wilson tallied 41 shots for the match, including 33 on goal. Overall, the Phoenix had 11 different student-athletes tally goals, including junior Rachel Rodriguez (Hedgesville, W.Va., Hedgesville) and freshman Rachel Coulter (Woodbridge, VA, Gar-field) who both notched two. Goalkeepers senior Aubrey Runkle (York, PA., West York) and freshman Erin Roszkowiak (Cinnaminson, NJ, Cinnaminson) combined on the shutout, facing zero shots.
