CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -The Wilson College Phoenix (10-6, 8-1 CSAC) faced off against the Keystone College Giants (2-11, 2-7 CSAC) today for the final game of their regular season at Chambersburg High School. The Phoenix powered past the Giants with a final score of 8-0.
How It Happened: Wilson opened the game with six shots in the first ten minutes of the game. The Phoenix found their first goal in the 13th minute of play off a shot from sophomore
Julia Mohler (Point Of Rocks, MD, Brunswick). Wilson's next two goals came over the next six minutes of play from junior
Bailey Miller (Charles Town, W.Va., Washington) and
senior
Olivia Churchman (Waynesboro, PA, Shenandoah). The Phoenix continued their scoring adding two more goals from freshman
Katie Riley (Mt. Airy, MD, Urbana) to bring the score to 5-0 going into the break. In the second half, Wilson's first goal came in the 53rd minute from
Bailey Miller, assisted by
Olivia Churchman. The next goal for the Phoenix came off the foot of freshman
Teaghan Ewing (Font Royal, VA, Skyline) in the 67th minute
. Wilson's next goal came late in the 86th minute off of rebound off a shot by freshman
Rachel Coulter (Woodbridge, VA, Gar-field), the ball fell to the feet of sophomore
Hannah Woodward (Gettysburg, PA, Biglerville) who found the first goal of her collegiate career.
Inside the Box Score: The Phoenix out shot the Giants 30-2 over the course of the two halves. Freshman
Rebecca Marakovitz (New Market, MD, Linganore High School) and senior
Juliann Winkler (Dingmans Ferry, PA., Delaware Valley) combined for the shut out each having one save.
Up Next: Wilson will host the Colonial States Athletic Conference Semi-Final match up on Wednesday, November 3 at a time to be determined.
