Field Hockey Falls to Knights

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Wilson College field hockey team hit the road for a match-up with Arcadia University in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III Championships this evening. The Phoenix (10-7) fell to the Knights (15-6) by a final score of 10-0.

How It Happened: A dominating performance by the Knights started with a goal by Gabby Sedares in the fifteenth minute of action. Lindsey Bechtold would add two goals for the Knights with the second one coming just before the half to put the hosts up 3-0 at the break. To open the second half, the Knights pushed their lead to 5-0 in the first three minutes with back-to-back goals by Lauren Daugherty. A two minute stretch midway through the second half saw the Knights tack on three more goals to extend the lead to 8-0. A pair of late goals by the Knights pushed the final score to 10-0. Senior Lauren Moss (Bloomsburg, Pa., Central Columbia) fired the only attempt on goal for the Phoenix late in the second half but the Knights keeper came up with the save.

Inside the Box Score: For the match the Knights out shot the Phoenix 30-1 including a 23-1 edge in shots on goal. The Knights also held a 21-1 advantage in penalty corners.
