Nittany Lions Upend Phoenix

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Wilson College men's basketball team hosted Penn State Mont Alto this evening and were defeated by the Nittany Lions 95-71.

Sophomore Marqwon Wynn (Wilmington, Del. , Alexis I. duPont ) led the Phoenix offense with 16 points. Junior Kasdan Holder (Zebulon, N.C., East Wake) added 13 points and Sophomore Keion Adams (Gaithersburg, Md., Seneca Valley) just missed his 4th straight double-double as he collected 10 points and 9 rebounds and a game high 5 blocks.

The Phoenix jumped out to an early lead on a jump shot by Holder and a 3 point basket by Adams, but the Nittany Lions would respond with a couple of baskets in the paint by Jerome Evans to cut the lead to 5-4. The Nittany Lions would then get hot from behind the arc as the knocked down four three point shots in a row in the midst of a 14-0 run to grab a 13 point lead just over 5 minutes into the game. The visitors would push the lead out as far as 24 points on the back of a 10-13 performance from behind the arc in the opening half and led 54-32 at the break.

The second half saw the Nittany Lions 6'7 center Jerome Brown take over in the paint as he netted 16 of his game high 24 points in the second half. Brown added 13 boards to go with his 24 points to record a double-double. Holder had a strong second half for the Phoenix as he tallied 11 of his 13 points after the break.

With the loss the Phoenix fall to 0-4 on the season, while the Nittany Lions improve to 5-1.

Wilson will be back in action on Monday, November 30 as they host PSU Altoona with a 7:00 p.m. tip.
