The Wilson College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the “Athlete of the Week.” Freshman, Morgan Newell, was chosen as the Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performance on the softball field.
On Thursday, March 26, Newell earned her first collegiate win on the mound against Christendom College. Newell fanned six Crusaders in three innings of work and allowed no hits or runs. On Sunday, March 29, she earned her second win in relief against the College of Saint Elizabeth at home. In the game against St. Elizabeth she pitched out of a jam with the score still remaining tied, allowing Wilson to snatch the victory.
