The Wilson College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the “Athlete of the Week.”  Junior, Taylor Crouse, was chosen as the Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performance on the softball field.
 
Crouse recorded a .500 batting average this week in Wilson’s span of eight conference games.  In 24 at bats she accumulated 12 hits, including two doubles.  Crouse also finished the week with seven runs batted in (RBI) and a .583 slugging percentage. 
 
Crouse began the week going 1-for-3 with 2 RBIs in Wilson’s game one 10-2 victory over St. Elizabeth on April 14.  In the Phoenix doubleheader against Lancaster Bible College on April 17, Crouse went 2-for-4 in each game, including a two out single in game one in the seventh inning to spark a Wilson comeback. 

Crouse had an outstanding performance in the pitching circle on April 15, tossing a shutout against Gallaudet University in the Phoenix 7-0 win.  She threw complete game, scattered seven hits, struck out five, and had no walks to earn her second win of the season. 

In game one of the doubleheader against Penn State Berks on April 18, Crouse was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, and hit the game tying sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning.  She also had a quality start in the circle, pitching 4.2 innings and giving up just two earned runs.
