The Wilson College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the “Athlete of the Week.”  Junior, Katelyn Wingerd, was chosen as the Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performance on the softball field.
 
Wingerd was the only Phoenix to record a hit in all four conference games over the weekend of April 11-12.  On Saturday, April 11 Wingerd finished 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs in the Phoenix win over Penn State Berks in game one of the doubleheader.  In game two against Penn State Berks she recorded her team’s only hit. 
 
On Sunday, April 12, Wingerd caught both games behind the plate for the Phoenix against Lancaster Bible College.  In game one she went 1-for 2 at the plate and in game two was 2-for-4 with an RBI. 
Wingerd currently holds a four game hitting streak.
